Tapered Roller Bearing Single Row

Single row tapered roller bearings are designed to carry combined loads, i.e. radial and axial loads acting simultaneously. The projection lines of the raceways intersect at a common point on the bearing axis to provide true rolling action and therefore have low frictional torque during operation. The axial load carrying capacity of a tapered roller bearing increases with increasing contact angle α. The size of the contact angle, usually between 10° and 30°, is related to the calculated coefficient e: the higher the value of e, the higher the contact angle.

Features and Benefits

Low Friction
The optimized roller end design and surface finish on the flange promote the formation of a lubricant film, which reduces friction. This also reduces frictional heat and flange wear. In addition, the bearings can better maintain preload and operate at reduced noise levels.
Long service life
The convex raceway profile of the basic design bearing and the logarithmic raceway profile of the NiuShang bearing optimize load distribution along the contact surface, reduce stress peaks at the roller ends, and reduce misalignment and shaft deflection sensitivity compared to conventional linear raceway profiles.

The optimized surface finish of the roller and raceway contact surfaces contributes to the formation of a hydrodynamic lubrication film.
Roller profile and dimensions
The rollers in NiuShang tapered roller bearings are manufactured to such close dimensional and geometric tolerances that they are virtually identical. This provides optimum load distribution, reduces noise and vibration, and allows preload to be set more accurately.
Rigid bearing applications
Single row tapered roller bearings are usually adjusted for a second tapered roller bearing. Rigid bearing applications can be achieved by applying a preload.
Break-in period with reduced temperature peaks
Tapered roller bearings typically have a break-in period during which conventionally designed tapered roller bearings experience a significant amount of friction, which leads to wear. This effect can occur in the form of temperature peaks. With the NiuShang tapered roller bearing design, friction, frictional heat and wear are significantly reduced as long as the bearings are properly mounted and lubricated.
Separable and interchangeable
The inner ring with roller and cage assembly can be mounted separately from the outer ring (outer ring). In addition, the separable components are interchangeable. This facilitates installation, disassembly, and maintenance inspection procedures.
